In other news, we’re busy booking shows for a fall mini-tour (to correspond with our appearance at the Midpoint Music Festival), and getting all pumped up for our show at the Fine Line Music Cafe next weekend.  See everyone there!

The Icy Shores have been selected to perform at this year’s Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, OH! The festival is Sept 23-35th. We’re super pumped! More info at the MPMF website here.

Big week last week – Thursday we played kickball with Gary from the Independent Stream podcast, recorded an acoustic version of “Old Science” for him, and did an interview for his latest podcast.  Not safe for work listening, can be downloaded via iTunes or here.  Thanks for having us, Gary!

We finished off the week playing at Ed’s No Name Bar in Winona, MN with Maudlin and My Private Eye – fun show, extra warm.  Thanks to all who made it out, and to Maudlin for having  us along.

Small update: Having finally pulled ourselves together after our CD release party, we’ve managed to expand the music page to now include our new + old shirts/hoodies.  So, without further ado, we’d like to introduce our new/improved “shop” page, which shall supersede the “music” page.  All prices include shipping, so if you didn’t manage to snap up one of our shirts at the CD release party, get them while they last!  Here they are!

Just a word of thanks to everyone who made it out to our CD release party Friday at the Triple Rock.  You guys are wonderful – we had a great time, and hope you did too.  Thanks to Middlepicker and We Became Actors, who were the perfect beginning and end, respectively, to an awesome night.  Also, big thanks to Janey Winterbauer for singing “Indian Summer” with us, Barb Abney for her constant support and encouragement, the Buell merch team, and of course Catlick Records.  The new shirts were a big hit (designed by Dan at Westwerk Design), and we’re working on making them web-available for those that can’t make it to a show.

It’s official!  Our second record, “The Opposite Of Your Heart” is released today on Catlick Records. We’re super excited to release this album, and we hope that it’s enjoyed by all.  The CD is available in regional stores today, so ask for it by name!  Or if you’re not a go-to-the-store type, you can always order it direct from us here.  And don’t forget: 10am on Channel 11 (Minneapolis/St. Paul) Wednesday we perform on Showcase Minnesota.  And, of course, 10pm this Friday is the CD Release Party at the Triple Rock.  See you all there!

It is upon us!  Putting an end to 2.5 years of making an awesome record, “The Opposite Of Your Heart” will be released Tuesday, May 4th, 2010.  Let us be the first to say WAHOOOO!!!  On the release date, the CD will be available in local outlets, and of course via our website.  In fact, there’s still time to snag a non-album bonus track for pre-orderers, up until May 4th, and you’ll get a download code emailed to you instantly. Some other noteworthy happenings coming up:

• Wednesday, May 5th, The Icy Shores will perform live in-studio on KARE 11 television’s (Minneapolis) Showcase Minnesota program.  Tune in at 10:00am to catch it – or if you have other commitments, we’ll be posting a link for playback later.
• Friday, May 7th at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, we will host our super-mega-ultra-partyish CD Release Party!  We’re thrilled to have Middlepicker opening up, and We Became Actors closing the night out.  Doors are at 9:00, music should start around 10:00.  It’s a 21+ event, and will cost $6.  Of course, the CDs will be moving like water, and we expect to have some awesome new t-shirts available for purchase as well.
