2009.06.17 - Hey everyone, things have been busy, with new children and doing artwork and booking shows and all. Things are coming together, we expect a redesigned site sometime in the nearish future, and all kinds of plans for CD release parties and things. In the meantime, we're all super excited for our show at Eclipse Records in July, which will mark our first ever all ages show. Crazy! Please mark your calendars, as July 24th will surely be etched in the annals of rock lore, and we would hate for you (or your children) to miss it.

2009.02.11 - We've finished mastering our new record, which is tentatively titled "The Opposite of Your Heart"! Finally! We've got some artwork decisions to make, and then it's off to the races with this thing - we're aiming for some time in late Spring for it to be unleashed on the world. Take cover!

2009.02.01 - We're recovering from serious rockercise on Friday night, jogging in place thinking about playing the Hex on Thursday, and wanted to say thanks to Greg at Perfect Porridge for reviewing the show at the Fine Line here. Thanks Greg! See everyone Thursday!

2009.01.21 - Happy new year! There's a ton of action in our world! The record is now completely mixed, and we've got a date set in early February for mastering. The end is nigh! Two songs from the record have been posted to our myspace page and our NEW facebook page for your early edification. Also, Nick co-wrote the song "Her Eyes Are Underneath the Ground", which is available on Antony and the Johnsons' newly released album "The Crying Light". More details here. And finally, we've got a couple of shows coming up in the next few weeks - see you soon!

2008.11.06 - Everyones: We're done with the new record, and it's mostly mixed! We're celebrating with a show at Stasiu's next weekend with Action vs. Action, Careers in Modeling and Clawthroat, which should be awesome. Bring all your friends and their hundred dollar bills.

2008.07.12 - The record is almost finished! Soon, we shall practice again and hatch plans for the final chapter of world domination and crushing the competition.

2008.01.03 - After a long and well deserved December vacation, The Icy Shores are back at it again. We've made some progress on the record, with drums, bass and guitars pretty much done. And, we're gearing up for our show next weekend at the Uptown, which should be great. Hope to see you all there. Happy New Year!

2007.10.06 - Asplode! We're playing next weekend at the Nomad, Saturday Oct 13th. Put on your drinking shoes, because we're playing last last last. We're pumped to be playing again, as we've been ferreting away in the basement, polishing the edges on our latest jams. In other news, we hit the studio in early November to get started on record #2. Wordup!

2007.06.25 - In line with our fast paced punk rock lifestyles, The Icy Shores have been holing up in a smelly basement and putting new material together this summer. We're happy to report that we've surely got a few international mega-hits ready to go, but sad that we're not seeing you all at shows. After a couple of long vacations in July/August, we hope to be back in action as the Rock Automatons you once knew/loved by the end of the summer.

2007.04.24 - The Icy Shores will play our first show as a three piece Thursday May 10th at the Varsity Theater as part of the Catlick Records Showcase. While we're sad to be playing without Hunter, and we've almost forgotten how to play La Bamba, the rock must go on. Helpfully, I've purchased two extra hands from China and grafted them just below my nipples, which makes playing two guitars at once significantly easier.

2007.03.23 - Tragedy on HMS Icy Shores - Sadly, Hunter will be leaving us to concentrate on his education. We've all loved every minute of playing in a band with Hunter, and hope that only the best possible things happen for him in the future. While the rest of us figure out what will become of The Icy Shores, we've cancelled our upcoming show at the Nomad.

2007.03.09 - Beef sandwich: Oh, how I love thee. The Icy Shores come out of hibernation to celebrate Saturday, April 7th at the Nomad. Sarah Pray will be holding her EP release, and Quarterstance will open up. We're playing last, so put on your drinking shoes!

2007.02.19 - (this news removed because it was both boring and dumb)

2006.12.28 - Dearest world wide web: My apologies for not having written sooner. As you may know, we've been tied up with new babies in the family, but we will be returning to melting your face off with gigantic rock explosions in the new year. Hope your holidays were swell. Love, The Icy Shores.

2006.07.31 - Music video can now be viewed here.

2006.07.30 - Ladies and gentlemen: we were totally overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and general niceness last night at our music video release party. Thanks to everyone who braved the heat and made it a special evening. As we rehydrate ourselves and work at getting the video online, you can keep yourselves busy by showering The Cans and Radio On with praise and adoration. Also, I have enrolled in remedial stage banter courses at the suggestion of the band. See you soon.

2006.07.12 - As the heavy cogs of rock turn in anticipation of our music video release party this Saturday, we pause to bring you this kindly worded message from this week's City Pages. Thanks, City Pages! clickage

2006.07.12 - Ahem. Music video release party at the 400 Bar, Saturday July 29th. Celebrate The Icy Shores looking like morons, forever immortalized on celluloid. No, really.
